signs all around

I can't help but notice that tons of signs for various democratic candidates are popping up all over the Denver area. Yet I see very few, if any, signs for Republican candidates. I asked my husband why he thought this was. Could it be that the Republicans feel so secure in their place that they do not feel the need to campaign very hard? Other than a few harsh television commercials we aren't seeing much at all. My husband is under the impression that the Republicans have nothing to fear, since we are now and have always been a red state.

But wait, my friends! How can you say this? How can you believe this to be true? Our state senate is run by a majority of Democrats. So clearly this state has the ability to swing to the left!

I think that the Republicans in this state will be very surprised after the results of the November 7 election are released. There are more Democratic candidates running in every local race than ever before. It will be an exciting election season, no doubt. And I'm guessing it will be full of surprises. I can't wait!

Election day is coming!

For many of us, election season began many months ago. The planning, fundraising, canvassing, all of that has been in progress for almost a year now. Probably longer for some campaigns.

But for most of America, the campaign bell is just about to toll. We are rounding the mark, being 45 days out from one of the most important elections of our time. In the next couple of days, politicians will be campaigning full throttle. Working non-stop until election day on November 7.

A previously apathetic public seems slightly more interested in politics now that the number of American deaths under this administration has risen near 7,000. Maybe this culture of death is becoming a little too frightening? Perhaps it is the chipping away at our civil liberties? Or could it be (gasp) that Americans don't really support torture? Even when it is inflicted on those evil Muslims who we all know would wipe out America in a snap if given the opportunity? Hmmm....who would have thought?
For the sake of all of our futures, let's hope that people will care enough to get out and vote.

Second Blog

Hmmm....maybe I am too sensitive. No traffic on wordpress so here I am to try something new. Maybe I will spark some interest at a different address....
